Hallo, ich heiße Christoph.
Hast du das Gefühl, dass das traditionelle Schulsystem nicht (mehr) zu deinem Kind – oder zu eurer Familie – passt?

Du bist nicht allein – ich war auch mal dort, wo du jetzt bist.
Vor über 10 Jahren habe ich mich mit meinen drei Kindern auf diesen Weg gemacht. Ich kenne all diese Fragen – und habe sie mir selbst oft gestellt.
Ich weiß genau, wie es sich anfühlt, am Anfang zu stehen.
Und ganz ehrlich: Einige dieser Zweifel klopfen auch heute noch manchmal an.
Aber über die Jahre habe ich vieles ausprobieren können, an meinem Mindset gearbeitet und mir neue Tools angeeignet, um heute mit mehr Vertrauen, Klarheit und Freude diesen Weg mit meinen Kindern beschreiten zu können.
Was ich dabei erkannt habe:
Es geht nicht darum, alle Unsicherheiten oder (inneren) Konflikte auszuradieren.
Auch nicht darum, Leistung zu optimieren – weder bei uns noch bei unseren Kindern.
Und schon gar nicht darum, den unbequemen Teilen dieses Weges auszuweichen.
Es geht darum, diese Erfahrung als Ganzes willkommen zu heißen – auch das Ungewisse.
Darum, voll präsent zu sein, egal wie unübersichtlich oder herausfordernd der Weg gerade ist.
Es geht um ein neues Mindset.
Um das Auflösen alter Glaubenssätze und Verhaltensmuster, die uns oft gar nicht bewusst sind.
Um das Erschließen eines neuen, tiefen Vertrauens in uns als Begleiter unserer Kinder – und in unsere Kinder an sich.
Und schließlich geht es auch darum, uns selbst ein Stück weit zu „ent-schulen“.
Vielleicht der schwerste Schritt von allen – aber auch der, mit dem größten Transformationspotenzial.
Ich bin auf meinem eigenen Weg oft gestolpert und auch hingefallen. Aber genau diese Erfahrungen sind heute mein starkes Fundament, um Eltern wie dir zu helfen, mehr Klarheit, Freude und Vertrauen für deinen eigenen Weg zu schöpfen.

About me
I am a proud father of 3 wonderful children, two boys 5 and 14, and one girl 11 years old. All of them went to forest kindergarten in Austria where we lived for more than 14 years.
The pedagogy practised there encouraged my children to get their “hands dirty” and to playfully explore their physical and mental boundaries at all times, inspiring mindfulness and a sense of connection with all living things.
When our oldest son reached school age we joined a local homeschooling cooperative, which we were a part of for 8 years. This is a family-led project, established more than 18 years ago, where approx. 20 families from the region pooled their resources to pursue their common vision of a more self-determined and holistic education for their children. The foundation of this homeschooling cooperative’s success was the freedom of the children to choose what and how they wanted to learn, and the active involvement of the parents as learning companions, guides and facilitators.
It was there that I first understood that a child’s motivation to learn can only be inspired but never be imposed from the outside. And it was also there that I realised how important it was for us parents to look at the imprints of our own schooling history and develop an awareness of how it affects our ability to empower our children on their educational journey.
Something else I learned in these years was how important it was for both the parents and the children to embrace the unknown and take conscious steps out of our comfort zone.
For us this step entailed leaving our well-known environment in Austria in order to travel more and to immerse ourselves into worldschooling communities around the world. Inspired by what we experienced on these trips, I ended up co-facilitating a nature-based worldschooling program in Thailand and organising my own worldschooling hub in Austria.
Ironically, I never planned to go down the path of alternative education. To be honest, at first I didn’t even know such a thing existed.😉
I myself had gone through highly competitive, traditional schooling systems with a strong focus on teacher-centred learning and performance based evaluation. After my graduation from the Vienna International School I got university degrees in 3 different European countries including the University of Cambridge in England.
During my tertiary education I experienced more of the same: mainly passive, other-directed learning driven by the paradigms of performance, pressure and competitiveness.
It was only with my first child’s enrolment in the forest kindergarten that I gradually began to understand, how profoundly an experience based, self-led education fuelled by intrinsic motivation could impact a child’s life. And the parents’ life, too. I don’t think I learned anywhere as much about myself, and about what really matters in my life, as I did on the home- and unschooling journey with my children.
Now that I have come this far I feel very passionate about helping others become the best possible unschooling parents they can be.
